Exploring Marrakesh: A Day at Jemaa el-Fna

In this video, I take you through an unforgettable day in Marrakesh, Morocco. From haggling in the bustling market to experiencing the local culture, this adventure is packed with excitement.

Taxi Ride to Jemaa el-Fna

My journey began with a taxi ride to Jemaa el-Fna, the vibrant main square of Marrakesh. The square is a hub of activity, filled with a mix of locals and tourists. As soon as I stepped out of the taxi, I was approached by men with flutes, charming snakes into a dance. Before I knew it, one of them placed a snake around my neck for a photo opportunity.

Snake Charmers and Negotiations

A quick note: the snake was non-venomous, so there was no real danger. However, when it came time to pay, I realized this was not a free experience. The snake charmers demanded 400 dirhams (approximately 40€). After some negotiation, I managed to pay only 20 dirhams (around 2€). It was a lesson in always being prepared to haggle in Marrakesh.

Incense Stones and Bargaining

Next, I headed to a vendor selling incense stones. Intrigued by the variety, I decided to purchase a few. Initially, the price was set at 35 dirhams, but after some determined bargaining, I brought it down to 15 dirhams.

Shopping for a Djellaba

Continuing my exploration, I decided to buy a Djellaba, a traditional Moroccan garment. I encountered a seller who asked for 650 dirhams. Firm in my negotiation, I insisted on 200 dirhams. After a persistent exchange, I succeeded in purchasing the Djellaba for my price.

My day in Jemaa el-Fna was filled with rich cultural encounters and valuable lessons in negotiation. Marrakesh is a city that offers an authentic and vibrant experience, from its lively markets to its traditional crafts.

Maltepe, located on the Asian side of Istanbul, is known for its vibrant city life and bustling streets. But sometimes, even the most exciting cities can leave you craving a peaceful retreat. That’s exactly what led me to the Princess Islands, a group of nine stunning islands in the Sea of Marmara, just a short boat ride away from Istanbul.

Setting Sail to the Princess Islands

As we depart from Maltepe, the city skyline gradually fades into the distance, replaced by the calm, open waters of the Sea of Marmara. The boat ride itself is an experience worth savoring. The gentle rocking of the boat, the salty sea breeze, and the panoramic views of the islands approaching on the horizon create a perfect escape from the everyday hustle.

The Princess Islands are renowned for their breathtaking beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Our boat ride offers uninterrupted views of lush landscapes, pristine beaches, and charming waterfronts. Welcome to Hamsilos, a hidden gem on the Black Sea near Sinop. If you’re looking for a place to relax and soak in nature’s beauty, Hamsilos is the perfect destination. In this blog post, I’ll share my experience of chilling around Hamsilos and taking an unforgettable boat ride.

Affordable Boat Ride Adventure

We decided to take a boat ride, which cost around €15. It’s quite affordable, especially if you’re in a group, as the price doesn’t depend on the number of people. Our captain, Kadir, was a very kind man. He invited me to the front of the boat to take some pictures, which was a fantastic opportunity to capture the stunning scenery.

Exploring the Scenic Coastal Waters of Hamsilos

Join me as we set sail through the scenic coastal waters of Hamsilos. The towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters create a mesmerizing backdrop, making this boat ride an absolute must for any traveler. As we navigate the serene waters, you’ll witness the unspoiled beauty of this unique destination. It’s a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.

An Unexpected Mishap

However, there’s a small caveat – the boat is tiny, and I accidentally crashed my head on the roof. So, a word of caution: be careful and watch your head while on the boat. Despite this little mishap, I managed to take some amazing pictures that perfectly captured the beauty of Hamsilos.

The Scenic 30-Minute Ride

The boat ride lasted about 30 minutes, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the serene coastal views and the breathtaking cliffs that Hamsilos is known for. The tranquil waters and the lush greenery surrounding the bay make it a photographer’s paradise and a perfect spot for nature lovers.

Delicious Local Ice Cream

After our boat ride, we indulged in some delicious ice cream from a local vendor shop. The refreshing treat was the perfect end to our little adventure and added to the charm of the day.

All in all, our trip to Hamsilos was a delightful experience. From the affordable boat ride to the beautiful scenery and friendly locals, it’s a place that offers both relaxation and adventure. Whether you’re a solo traveler or with a group, Hamsilos has something to offer everyone.
